The Golden Beetle, Allotopus Moellenkampi Moseri, is commonly found in Southeast Asia and hails from the tropical rainforests of Malaysia. Its distinctive appearance and the sparkling golden color make the Golden Beetle highly popular!
Due to its smaller size and shorter larval stage, it can emerge as an adult in as little as six months.
- Native Habitat: Malaysia
- Features: Petite size, shiny golden exoskeleton
- Size: 34-83mm
- Adult Lifespan Once Active: 12 months
- Larvae to Adult: 4-12 months
- Behavior: Temperamental but not aggressive; the structure of the large mandibles prevents significant harm during fights with females.
- Substrate and Air Temperature: : 68-73 °F (20-23°C) / Humidity: 50-70%
- Beetle Food: Beetle jelly
- Larvae Food: Kawaratake Kinshi
- Difficulty: Suitable for beginners
- Rearing Tips: It's advisable to keep them individually, whether as adults or larvae.

Beetle Larvae go through three stages: L1, L2, and L3. After the L3 stage, they pupate and transform into adult beetles! The pictured larva is either L2 or L3 and takes 4-12 months to become an adult beetle.
Larvae Rearing Tips:
- Both larvae and adults are highly sensitive to heat, so it's crucial to control the temperature and ensure proper ventilation.
- Larvae generally do not thrive well on materials other than Kawaratake Kinshi. It is recommended to use Kawarate Kinshi for optimal results.
